Quick Take Review
Saucony is not typically been one of my go-to brands for running shoes. I’ve noticed these shoes more and more of late, and when I got a recommendation from my brother to give them a try, I made my move. I chose the Saucony ProGrid Guides and found them at one of my favorite online retailers Sierra Trading Post.
Out of the box, these shoes impressed. Wild green color scheme, gusseted and padded tongue (with a hidden lace pocket, lightly lugged sole, rubberized toe cap, and plenty of cushion under foot. Saucony bills the ProGrid Guide as a stability shoe. With a rigid side plate under the arch and other features it certainly worked for me.
Took my first run in these yesterday morning. Definitely comfortable and plush. The side plate helped keep my foot rolling forward. And the sole provide sufficient traction on the trail near my home but might not be enough for heavy duty trail running.
Overall, these are an excellent shoe for the money. I might just be buying another pair.
