Pearl Izumi In-R-Cool Short Sleeve Review

First Impressions

Pearl Izumi In-R-Cool Shirts

Pearl Izumi can trace its history back to Japan 50 years ago. Today, however, the company firmly plants its roots in Louisville, Colorado and manufactures some very innovative gear for cyclers, triathletes and runners. We received the In-R-Cool Short Sleeve for this test which is part of the company’s P.R.O. Series of products which also includes shorts, tights and jackets.

Features

On the surface, the Pearl Izumi In-R-Cool Short Sleeve shirt is pretty straightforward. Dig under the surface a bit and you find a very advanced piece of technical apparel. Pear Izumi uses the company’s In-R-Cool fabric technology to provide wicking and cooling. It worked well in our tests, keeping us cool on runs and drying quickly thereafter.

Specs
Fabric: Polyester
Weight: 3.25 oz

At 3.25 ounces, the In-R-Cool is the lightest t-shirt in our test. And one of the biggest features of the In-R-Cool is the product’s fit. More on that below.

Fit

Pearl Izumi sculpts the In-R-Cool to form fit around the body. Slim through the waist and plenty long, expanding through the chest and perfect sleeve length – those are the hallmarks of a great fitting shirt. The In-R-Cool delivers that perfect fit and runs true size.

Final Verdict

Dynamite. The Pear Izumi In-R-Cool is one of the best athletic shirts we’ve run into lately. They’re not always the easiest to find, but well worth the search. Recommended.
