Chukka Boot Reviews

For those of us in an around Silicon Valley – the epicenter of which is not too far from GearGuide headquarters – Om Malik remains a must read. He’s covered the tech world since the 90s and I was surprised to find an article he wrote recently when researching this piece. Entitled “What a man needs: Chukka Boots,” the post recalls a particularly favorite pair of Aldens. Not all of us can afford a $450 pair of chukkas, and luckily we don’t have to. There are many options under $200. Here are three that fit the bill:

Chrome Storm 415 Work Boot – Part Chuck Taylor All Star and part chukka, the Chrome Storm 415 delivers hip urban styling and a sneaker-like fit. They’re available in leather or Cordura nylon. See review.

Clarks Roar Chukka Boot – No stranger to the chukka boot, Clarks made some of the first to catch on. Today, they make a range of styles including the Roar. It features a heavy lugged sole and is available in either leather or suede. See review.

I agree with Om, if you don’t already own a pair of chukkas, it’s time you did. They’re comfortable, good looking and hard wearing. You can spend hundreds on them, or you can spend a little and still get a very service-able pair. Whatever you choose, leave us a comment and let us know what you think.
