Based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Us+U proves that not all design and business innovation happens on the left coast. All of their offerings for iPad and Kindle feature a unique swiveling handle that keeps the tablet firmly in your grip. And the company’s business philosophy – summed up in their tagline Good Design + Good Deeds – mandates that three percent of net revenue be donated to a deserving charity. Order from the Us+U website and you can choose the organization to which your money goes. We’d love to see others adopt this approach.

Us+U designed the Swivel ProFolio expressly for mobile use. The product’s primary feature is the aforementioned elastic hand grip located on the inside of the case’s cover. Open the case, flip the cover over, secure it in place with the built-in corner straps and expose the hand grip. Slide your hand in place and you’re ready to go. The grip allows you to move the iPad around and use it – for navigation, for instance – without the fear of dropping and damaging the device.

Us+U packs a number of other features into the Swivel ProFolio extending it’s utility indoors. There’s a multi-position stand, small pockets for securing papers and other items, a stylus sleeve, etc. All nice to have. What’s lacking on the Pivot Case is the auto on/off feature that’s prevalent on most iPad covers. Without it, you’re forced to manually turn off the iPad.

Construction: Ballistic nylon, microfiber lining
Weight: 12 oz

Fit and finish of the Pivot Case was great. The iPad slips underneath a protective leather-like surround and secures wth a micro hook and loop flap. The exterior ballistic nylon is very rugged. The interior microfiber lining delivered scratch protection.

Overall, we were very impressed with the Swivel ProFolio. It’s a touch bulkier and heavier than some of the other case/covers out there, but protection and utility were excellent.
