Tifosi Dolomite 2.0 Review
First Impressions
According to the company’s website, Tifosi is an Italian word referring to a super fan. Well, at GearGuide we think Tifosi is synonymous with super adaptability. Just about all Tifosi products come with interchangeable lenses for virtually every sport and every condition. There are no fewer than 10 color options plus polarization and photo-sensitive treatments. In other words, buying one pair of Tifosis is almost like buying a dozen different sunglasses. The Dolomite 2.0 provides a perfect example.
Features
Our Dolomite 2.0 sample arrived from Tifosi in sparkling silver and with three different lenses – the combination of which is optimized for biking, running and hiking. There’s a smoke lens (with blue glare protection) for bright sun, red for cloudy and overcast days, and clear for evening. Another nine lenses are available.
Specs
Frame: Impact resistant plastic (Grilamid TR-90)
Lens: Polycarbonate
Fit: Medium to large
The lenses come nicely packaged inside a hard case that houses the frames. Tifosi also includes a soft case.
The Dolomite 2.0 performed well both on and off the bike providing just the right amount of UV protection and glare reduction.
Fit
Excellent. The Dolomite 2.0s were designed for medium to large faces and fit very well. The temples extend just a touch too far behind the ear for me, running into the back of my helmet. The nose piece is very comfortable.
Final Verdict
Super adaptable and a super value. Tifosi seems to have a winning formula with interchangeable lenses that enable each product to work like 10-12 different ones. Thanks to that formula, the Dolomite 2.0 is a real winner.
