Tifosi Slip Sunglass Review
First Impressions
Dynamite. That’s how I describe the Tifosi Slip sunglasses. Our sample arrived decked out in carbon-fiber-look frames and photo-chromatic red lenses – a combination that knocked our socks off. Tifosi makes all its products for active sports including golf, tennis, baseball, hiking, hunting, fishing, and of course, cycling and running. The company’s Slip is one of the sleekest in the line, ideal for an afternoon on the road or trail.
Features
The Tifosi Slip has that now classic wrap-around look. The lenses – actually a single unit that covers both eyes – completely covers the field of view from one peripheral to the other. It’s a very sleek and slick look that’s also functional, keeping both light and wind from penetrating through the sides of the glasses.
Specs
Frame: Polycarbonate (Grilamid TR-90)
Lens: High-speed red Fototec
Fit: Small to large
The carbon-fiber look of our frames was killer. Tifosi purports that the temples of the Slip frames can be custom shaped to fit your face. I was unsuccessful at bending those temples and gave up before something gave way. Frankly, I didn’t find that feature necessary.
The Fototec red lenses worked very well in our test, adjusting quickly to available light.
Fit
The Tifosi Slip fits a range of face sizes, from small to large according to the company’s website. We had both men and women try the product and it worked on a range of face sizes and shapes. The rubber nose pads and temples were very comfortable.
Final Verdict
The Tifosi Slip is a great sports-oriented shade. Comfortable, lightweight and terrific photo-chromatic lenses. Recommended.
